  1. Probably not.  Just because Mom has it don't mean you are going to have it and you are young.  You could have pulled somthing.  Arthritis is usually not just a short pain that goes away.

  2. Doesn't sound like arthritis, because arthritis is a burning sensation.

It sounds like you've just maybe had bad posture when squatting or doing some other exercise.

Still, lay off the working out for a few days because if you don't. The pain will get worse.

  3. A sharp pain in your lower back doesn't sound like arthritis. Arthritis is more of a dull constant ache. Your parents really aren't a good indicator if you will have arthritis or not. Its more common in woman, as it is a bone density issue (which, in women, decreases with age and children). It also happens, when you get a bit older, if you've had broken bones, poor diet, and certain medications. At your age, I wouldn't worry. You may end up with it, you may not. The only way to tell for sure is with an xray, mri or ct scan. But, I wouldn't go through the bother. It doesn't sound like you have it form what you've described.

  4. Just because your mom and dad have anything doesn't mean you will get it so don't worry about that, only time will tell. There are different types of arthritis and it can affect anyone at any age but arthritis is in a joint. Chances are you strained a muscle or a ligament if the pain is in the lower left side of your back. If the pain persists talk to your trainer or see a doctor.
