My mom has her green card ,she got it through my dad(he was an american citizen).?

My dad passed away 4 years ago and her green card doesnt expire for another 7 years but she wants to apply for her citizenship soon and doesnt know what to do.

Can you please tell me how to start .

  1. You might wanna do it right away cuz the fees go up like every six months. It was just under $500 last year!!!

    You'll need to fill out form N-400. Here is the link straight to the file in PDF format.

  2. She needs to file Form N-400 with the USCIS.  The cost to file is $675.

  3. Contact the Immigratuion and Naturalization Department they will assist her in the documents she needs to apply.  Good Luck

  4. Maybe if you go to the government's website, they have instructions that tell you how to apply for citizenship. How long has she lived here and where is she from originally?
