When did it start? I started having these pains just today.  I was with people on Saturday that said they had some stomach pains too.  I think it may be a flu thing in my case.  Try an ant-acid and rest if not better call the DR

you must have your mother see her medical doctor as soon as possible.  This could be a severe ulcer which can start hemorrhaging.  There are many other problems that can cause this pain.  Pain is always a signal by the body that something is wrong and needs attention.  Get her to the medical doctor.

I recently had severe stomach pains myself I have really bad acid upset.  So bad I just feel nauseous, and cannot eat if I try I trow up.  I just want to roll around on my bed from pain.  It is awful and lasts 2 -3 hrs.  It was happened to me 4 days in a row, I could not figure out what it was.  I was taking pain medication on an empty stomach and it aggravated my condition.

~ hi ~! You're very kind to be concerned for your mother. This is hard to diagnose.

Does your mother have any other symptoms besides pain - is she vomiting? Is the pain more towards the top, middle, are lower abdomen?

My husband had gall bladder issues and was first diagnosed with GERD. It took the fact that his liver was almost completely not functioning to get the right diagnosis. Does she have other symptoms like diarrhea? IF the pain is in the middle around her belly button it could be her Appendix.

I wish I could say for sure, but if the pain is this severe, she needs to be seen in Emergency. Make sure she's staying hydrating with water.

its a severe case of pain i suggest smacking it with a 2by4 to ease it  and don't forget no one likes a biter
