My mom is VERY strict about hair, yet she doesn't know anything about it!?

I'm a guy, all right? 15 years old. I don't want answers saying "it's your hair, do what you want with it", cause my mom goes all ape sh*t when she's mad and turns violent.

Anyway,

she lets me grow out my front bangs, to cover up my forehead.

But she doesn't let me grow out my side bangs or the back. My side bangs run to the top of my ear.

She absolutely hates long hair and thinks of i grow out my side bangs to cover my ears then i'll have long hair and i'll be "uncivilized" or some sh*t.

What's the f*cking point of having front bangs but not being able to have side bangs?

What should i say to my mom?

  1. tell her to **** off. thats what I did

  2. tell her its a new school year, you want to do a little change

or say (in a way that wont make her mad)that your getting older and more mature enough that you want to have control of your hair

  3. a guy with side bangs eww good for your mom . i am jk . you have to live with it as you are 15 and living with them . move out at 18

  4. I think you should try to talk to her and explain your vies on this matter. DON'T get angry because you may not hear what you want . But while I understand your views on this matter. I also understand your mothers. Their are some guys that can have long hair and NOT look so grungy and dirty looking. While others simply LOOK dirty. Try to also understand that she may NOT want you to have that DIRTY LOOK to you. It's NOT very appealing at all !

  5. "It is your hair, but you can't do what you want with it" -hows that.

    Let me explain.

Your mom just doesn't want you to go to the extreme in her eyes.

BUT, why don't you sit her down and explain how important it is to you. Ask her if you can just see what it looks like as it grows. If she doesn't like it you will cut it. If you say it that way it doesn't sound like you "want to grow your hair out", it sounds like you are saying while it grows can we just see what it will look like?

It is not what you say, it is how you say it with parents.

    TRY THAT.

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. Tell her that your hairstyle is an expression of you. No body can tell her how to wear her hair. Remember she is still your mother, so be careful as to how you come off about the situation.
