My mom is a traveling nurse and we wonder if she could work in portue rico or the virgin islands?

Next summer we are either going to go to portue rico or the american virgin islands. So i was wondering if she could work in those places cause they are territories.

  1. i live on st croix and they have a traveling nurse program here

    pays pretty good to from what i am told


  2. Yes there are agencies that offer positions in those places. She should check with her agency for a assignment and to see what the requirements are or look into assignments from other agencies.

  3. WHERE is "portue rico"?  Never heard of it.  Now, there is a PUERTO RICO which is near the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    She will need a copy of her nursing license, a certified copy of her college transcrips and any CEU's she has gotten, and then apply to the appropriate bureau of registry.

    She will ALSO have to speak SPANISH if she is going to work in P.R. because public health nurses work with the locals and they usually don't talk AmeriKan.

  4. Can't say much about Puerto Rico, but in the US Virgin Islands we're always looking for more nurses.  Keep track of the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Hospital careers page to see what's available.  As long as she is a US Citizen or has a US work visa she can work in the US Virgin Islands.
