Question:

My mom is always screaming at me?

I'm not exaggerating when I say whenever I see my mom in the morning 99 out of 100 times she wakes up and starts screaming at me while shes getting ready for work or for the day when shes not working. It can be for any reason even for something small like forgetting to turn a light off (she explodes for at least 15 minutes) and no matter how many times I try and ask her nicely to please stop screaming at me, she tells me to **** off and she'll say something to hurt my feelings. Is there a reason why she does this and no matter how many times I try to talk to her calmly she refuses? Is there anything that can be done? Its making me sick to my stomach every morning. I've talked to my dad, brothers, etc. they all leave the house purposely in the morning cause of the way she is. They just accept it. Then again shes not as mean to them as she is to me

  1. Just say, "Wait, what did you say? I couldnt' hear you." or "I can't understand you when you scream," or ask her to use her inside voice.

  2. just  talk  to them

  3. she got problems im sorry but u need to follow ur brothers and get out of there before she wake up or talk to her when she is calm.......

  4. Just do everything to please her so she can't have a reason to be mad. Clean up the kitchen or take out the trash. Make sure everything is turned off and tidied up. When I showed my mom I was more responsible she stopped yelling as much. Maybe your mom is under a lot of stress and needs a scapegoat. I guess you officially became that when everyone else left.

  5. Mom may just not be a morning person. Or she could just REALLY hate her job, maybe she's stressed out, and knows of no other ways to express it.

My advice is, to tip toe quietly in the mornings, do NOTHING that will trigger her rage. In fact, if dad and brothers all leave during the morning hours, leave WITH them. Tell them to start waking you up so you can go too if they leave before she wakes. Just try not to be around for her to scream at.

Of course she's not as mean to them, since they aren't there. YOU are.

  6. It sounds like you mother may be going through the change of life. When women reach a certain age, their body starts to go through some chemistry changes and it is quite the thing to witness. You might just have a little patients with your mom and just tell her you love her when she yells at you and calls you names. I really don't think she even knows what's happening to her body. So be patient and it to shall pass.

  7. Talk to her when she is calm. There is something on her mind, and she is taking out the stress on you...trust me, my mom did the same thing. You can either ignore it...or just talk to her, let her know that you are there for her if she needs anytihng, like someone to talk to.
