My mom isn't supporting me with ice skating!?

I want to do a skating lesson with my friend. It is $100 for 6 weeks, plus the skates and stuff. My friend wanted me to do it with her, and I thought it would be kind of fun, so I decided to sign up. I told my mom, and she said she thinks that would be great. Tomorrow is the open house, where you go, meet the teachers, and just have free skate. My mom won't take me to the store to get skates! She doesn't believe that I really want to do it! She is telling me I just am doing it because my friend is. I don't know what to do! I already told my friend I'm going to do it and now I can't?

My sister started doing basketball because her friend was doing it! My mom went out and got her the basketball shorts, cleats, a basketball bag, etc. What should I do?

  1. Consider offering to help her pay for the lessons or gear, and work out a plan, and stick to it... that should convince her that you really want this! Good luck...:)
