  1. No, your step-dad has to. Call the school on Monday and ask them what you can do. They may accept having your father calling them, at least to get things going.

It must be so hard having to deal with school stuff just after your mom passed. Hope you're hanging in there.

  2. I'm so sorry for your loss, and for having to deal with things like this in the midst of your mom passing.

Most likely, your step-dad will need to be the one to sign the papers, but I would suggest calling the school (or going there with your brother on Monday) and speaking with an administrator or guidance counselor.  Explain to them what happened and ask for their help in getting this completed.  Will your step-dad be near a fax?  Would they accept his fax signature (and perhaps a verbal confirmation) until he gets back and can sign the papers in person?  Normally a parent or guardian needs to enroll you, but since you have extenuating circumstances, there should be something they can do to help.

I hope things work out ok on Monday :)

  3. Go to the school and ask for registration froms.

Sorry for what happened to your mom.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. You might have to talk to the school and explain the situation. Since your brother is 18, even if they require a legal guardian, I'm sure something can be worked out. Good luck, and be sure to speak to a school counselor if you need to. That's a lot to go through. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

  5. I am really sorry about your Mom.  I would either try and call the school  Monday morning and ask a school administator what is the best way to do this or go over to the school  with your brother on Monday.  I would think that you get all the forms etc that you need, sign up for any classes etc and if your stepdad needs to sign anything you could bring home those forms for him to sign once he returns to the state.  I am sorry that you are having to deal with these things without you Mom.  Take care of yourself.  If I can help further, please let me know.

  6. Im sorry for your loss. I dont even think i can function properly if my mom passed away. Anyway, i think the best thing you can do is to talk with your school counselor, some schools call them guidance counselors. Thats generally what they are there for, helping students with their problems. Your brother is old enough to sign the papers since he is 18. Take care and be strong.

  7. best thing to do is to go to the nearest school and go to the office and ask you want to be enrolled and they will give you the registration forms.

sorry for the loss. take care!
