Question:

My mom says not to boil tea as it releases poisons and harms your kidneys.Any truth to it?

my husband always boils our tea(he doesn't just steep it )She says this is why he has kidney problems.He says it uses less bags this way.Anyone know the answer to this?

  1. The only way boiling tea could have caused his kidney problems is if the teabag ripped and he accidently drank some grounds.  It is better to seep it, but there are no poisons in tea that will be released by boiling.


  2. Even drinking the tea leaves would not cause such a problem. Tea is good for the kidneys, and boiling the tea will just make it stronger (generally). Tea is actually used in natural cures to assist the kidney in disolving and removing kidney stones. So it could be said that tea, boiled or not, it good for the kidneys and will keep them healthy.
