my mom has had a very stressful summer...she has had a floater in the past and she was describing majorly watery eyes. she would say that she could see a bit of a halo..so then she wakes up a couple of mornings and noticed her eyes closed shut from c**p on her eyelids.. her eyes were very red..and her eye lids under the brow and underneath her eye was all inflammed and puffy. she went to the doc ..he gave her drops..and then her condition got worse. might have been an allergic reation to those drops..she got more drops..and those help a bit..however..her eyes are still very red and sore.. she was also diagnosed with a minor bladder infection..any ideas as to what this could be. viral bacterial...list some names...

  1. Floaters are very common.  Pretty much everyone gets them as they get older, so they are not usually anything to worry about.

Seeing a bit of a halo could be more serious, so she should see her doctor about that one for sure.

Bladder infections are also quite common, and not likely to be connected to her eye problem.

She should talk to her doctor if the problems continue and are not getting better.

Pink eye, also called conjunctivitis, can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have.   There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection.
