  1. I applaud anybody that can go through natural childbirth, I didn't even worry about the epi, by the time they decided I needed a c-section I was more than willing to have them do whatever it took to get the baby out.

  2. First of all, remind your mom that this is YOUR baby and YOUR body. She can give you her opinion, but it's ultimately your decision to make.

Then you should sit her down and explain that your mind is made. You can offer to research natural vs. epi, to show her you're willing to consider both options. Tell her that these stories she's telling scare you. That's not a mom's job, is it? Your mom's number one priority should be to protect you, not to scare you. Maybe you should remind her of that.

I wish you the best of luck with pregnancy, birth, and beyond. : )

  3. You just need to tell your mom that what she is telling you is making you really nervous and to please stop.

Also, I've given birth to 2 kids and never had a shot in the spine.........that I believe is only given when they deliver by c-section. They do give you a shot down there if you give birth the usual way. But, you never feel it believe it or not. It makes you numb down there so your not in pain.......just some pressure is all you'll feel down there. And of course the contractions making you push.

I'm just going to throw in a pointer for you okay. If you haven't started yet then believe me you will wish you had. Now, what you need to do to prevent stretch marks is put lotion all over your belly a couple of times a day........I did it and I have NO stretch marks yay. One more thing if you can.......start buying diapers once a week........trust me you'll be glad of that too.

Now good luck with your baby and just hope for a happy and healthy baby.

  4. I'd get the d**n epi if I was you!

Babies are PAINFUL and the younger you are the more it would hurt, your 16... get the epi

plus moms are a sucker for babies, once that thing pops outta you she will forget all about the epi argument and start going in to "grandmom mode" (p.s. dont call her a grandmom, bad idea... hehe)

[i figure the smiley face after haveing a baby in december means its a good thing, congradulations :)]

  5. dude, i had my daughter when i was 19, she was 9 pounds and i got the epidural and didnt feel ANYTHING! the needle isnt that bad, and trust me, you are in pain witht he contractions, so you dont care about the needle. dont look at it and dont freak out. just stay still and dont move or freak out and let him put it in there and then you feel like amillion bucks and then when you push out the baby you dont feel anything at all! i am pregnant again

(im 22 now) and i will get the epidural again. no complications at all, i loved it!!!!

s***w your mom get thje epi.. im also due in dec! congrats!

  6. Just explain to her that it is your body and though it's amazing she managed to go natural you don't think you can and really want an epi.

It's your body and ultimately your decision. An epidural isn't exactly a walk in the park but it's the right thing for some women. And the end result is always the same your gunna have a little baby boy or girl to love and look after.

    Good luck!

  7. You could sit her down and tell her that it is your decision and when she brings it up it makes you uncomfortable OR you could lie to her and tell her you're going to not have an epi and then just have one anyway...

I personally would lie because it's just easier...

  8. Mom.   I am a L*****n..
