  1. There are many fat / obese people in China too! The key is to eat in moderation. If you eat more than you need, even the healthiest diet won't keep you slim.

  2. I don't agree with your mum, I think there are Chinese foods with little calories and there are those with high calories. Usually foods with high calories are deep fried or extremely sweet, or both.

  3. only white rice and steamed veggies and steamed fish, chicken or meat.other than that it is loaded with fat.but yums...

  4. BELIEVE THAT BULLSHIT IF YA WANNA, I HEARD ABOUT SHAWTY NEM AND THEY HOTTER THAN A SONNA.

  5. You know what food barely has calories? Vietnamese food.

They cook really simple, with little oil, and mostly veggies.

    Vietnamese women are raely fat.

Japanese food, apart from fried prawns, are also very healthy, especially sushi and sashimi.

Chinese food is not necessarily healthy. Pork fat used ups the calories, and alot of chinese food is fried. But compared to italian and amaerican, which uses ground meat with fat and cream based sauces, chinese food can be less fattening.

Just ask for soups, less oil, and more veggies.

  6. No. It depends on the type of food. If it contains more vegetable and less fat than we can say it is less in calories. Chinese use so many types of animals in food so it have high calories value.

  7. "Chinese Food" prepared in American style chinese restaurants is loaded with fat, sodium and sometimes, MSG, an unhealthy preservative.

Many think that because there are fresh vegetables and protein, and good carbs in the noodles, that Chinese food is healthy.  Well, the way WE eat it over here, covered in sugary sauces and after frying in deep fat, we reduce the health benefits quite a bit. Quite a bit.

Go to "The Daily Plate" (link below) and look up some basic chinese dishes from well known chains by way of example -- like Panda Express or others.

One cup of Pork Fried Rice has nearly 400 calories, and 17 grams of fat.   Pork Chow Mein is very close to the same -- 300-400 calories and 10-15 grams of fat.   One egg roll is nearly 400 calories and 18 grams of fat.

Let's pick a vegetable dish -- one that isn't fried.   A plate of vegetable lo mein can have as many  as 500 calories and 20 grams of fat.

It all depends on what you order and how much you eat, but as a "diet food" -- Chinese food is only as healthy as the way you order it: No sauces, lemon juice, brown rice, and nothing fried.
