  1. I think experience is more important than classes.  Be in every play you can be in. If you mom sees you have real talent, she might spring for a class.

  2. Do what many aspiring actors and actresses have done, get a job, pay your own way and be determined that nothing will stop you.

Until such time as you can accomplish this, join the local community theater.  If the same cost, seek a scholarship and also seek to pay your way by helping to build sets, cleaning the theater, being an usher, working in the concession stand and any other job you can fill.

Also, understand that for many, these are hard economic times and your mother may be more concerned about paying for your needs rather than your wants.  You should be thankful to her for her caring.

    Be well.

  3. Babysitt or get a job for a couple months than.........use that money to do acting and just be in as many plays you can be in..

  4. I agree with the second guy who answered this. :)

  5. It's tough when money issues won't allow you to do the things you love.  However, in this particular situation, you're very lucky!  You don't need to have acting classes in order to become a good actor!  Try out for every single play at your school, church, and community theatre.  Go to the public library, check out some plays that seem interesting, and read them out loud in front of a mirror at home - using different facial expressions and voices for each character.  Think about what your favorite actor/actress would do if she were playing the part that you're reading.  Put on your favorite music and dance around your room so that you become comfortable with moving your body and using it as as a part of your character.  Best of luck!  Hope to see you on Broadway!
