and smell the water, thn water went in my nose!!

The only way to smell the water is by sniffing before going inot the water. You  could have gotten hurt depending on how deep the pool is.  So your Mom was mean or she was just joking with you. But never go underwater adn breath in thru your nose you could hurt yourself or drown.

...You can't put your head underwater and inhale, because you'll just get water up your nose.

You can smell water when you are on land, but not underwater. It is impossible.

obviously this is a joke... because of you saying it isnt a joke, you know its impossible to sniff underwater.. if you didnt know that then well..personaly i wouldnt think you would be able to spell the words to type out this question..much less know how to use a computer.

I don't know why the water at the bottom of the pool would smell any different than water at the top, but I do have an idea.

Take some sort of cup with a lid and take it to the bottom of the pool, fill it and put the lid on. Go back to the surface and smell it...
