Im 23 years old and I still live with my mom. My friends would sometimes make fun of me and call me a baby because i live with my mom. And my mom does treat me like a baby. She still buys me clothes, tells me to clean up my room. She would sometimes make me look shame in front of my friends and says...Come give mama a hug! WTF???? She treats me like I'm 6 years old, and don't even look at me as a older women now. UGH!! I wanna move out, but I don't have the money and rent here in this state is alot.

What can I do?

  1. Get some friends together and share an apartment. You will miss her when you move.

  2. my brother didnt leave home till he was 32,he moved out for a year know he's back

  3. just get a good job finsh school if you are in school and then you can move out

  4. if you clean your room WITHOUT being asked etc and even ATTEMPTED to pay her something she might look at you as more grown...if you are just sucking her dry and not paying for ANYTHING...why should she treat you any different? I think shes right...you sound like a baby...

  5. Be grateful that she is interested in you and your life.  You will be able to move out soon enough!  Then when you have kids of your own, they will feel the same way about you!

  6. There is nothing you can do unless you act like a grown up and MOVE out.  Sorry to be harsh about it but I understand times are hard in your state but get a better job, finish school, get a roommate(s), GET OUT of your mom's house and best of all, STOP letting her buy your clothes and pay your room and board.  Because if you don't then you have no legitimate bit** here.  You have to act like an adult to be treated like one.

  7. cherish those moments...very soon you'll want them back.
