Whenever you are making a card specifically for someone, think about their interests- try to think of what describes them.  Is there anything that when you see it, you think of your mom? Like, I Love turtles, so whenever anyone I know sees turtles, they think of me.  My dad loves airplanes- so.... you get the idea. Anything like that, take it and work with it.  Check out your local craft stores and get some ideas there, as well. If you look, you can find really nice, inexpensive items. Have fun with it, and it will show! She will love whatever you do. Handmade items mean so much more because you put the time into it! Good luck and have fun!

Make a mini book of her life. Go to a scrapbook store and get some stickers, and fun decorations. If she was born in the city, write where and when, and then get a taxi picture, draw a little person in it, and then take e a picture of your mom now, make it bigger than the taxi, use the same picture for all the pages. Just be creative, and have fun!

The best advice I can give is for you to break out the construction paper and other craft stuff. Think of what she likes or maybe some family symbol. No one here should know what is more perfect to give your mom than you.

Check out this site. It has some great patterns, most you have to pay for but there are free ones too. I make all kinds of things from here.

They also sell books of this at michaels and probably any craft store in your area. It's very unique and elegant.

i agree with "star".

but heres a fun one if you want to make your mom laugh.

here are the basic instructions:

get an a4/a3/a2 page and fold in half from a vertical position

unfold back to normal so you have acrease in your page

fold in half from  a horizontal position

you should have a long rectangle shape.

measure a qarter of the way in across the long side of the rectangle and make a tear about 4cm long

fold back the two sides of the tear into triangles

open up your page again.

fold it in half vertically so that the slit is in the centre

fix the slit so that it opens and closes like a beak when you open and close the car

decorate how you seem fit!!

go to a craft store like Michaels, Joanns, AC Moore, or a local scrapbooking shop if you have one..get some really cool scrapbooking papers and stickers..if you have any pictures of the two of you, you could put one on it...but they also have really cool caligraphy pens you can use
