My moms upcomming birth?

Hi im 17 and my mom asked me to be at the birth of my brother. She is 37 weeks pregnant. I want to watch but i don't know what is acceptable to see what do you think? Like crowning and all?

You are old enough to know what causes pregnancy and childbirth, and someday will probably have children of your own. I had my first child at 17 and some girls start earlier (doesn't mean you should)! Point is if your mom thinks you are old enough to be there then I think it is alright. It will be a good learning experience for you and some people even use this as a method of birth control for teenage girls, lol! Really though, you will be fine. Go and watch your sibling come into the world, you will enjoy it and it will create a bond between you from birth!

Oh, I have also watched the births of my sisters children and it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. I am in nursing school now hoping to work in labor and delivery one day!

You should be there if you're mother wants you to.

everything is 'acceptable' to watch!

...as long as your stomach can handle it.

You can watch the whole thing.  If she didn't want you to see, then she wouldn't have you in the room.  There's going to be at least five strangers staring fixedly at her poonanny.  What's one more?  Plus, you don't want to miss watching your sibling come into the world.  It's startling, but beautiful.  In that particular situation, the v****a ceases to be viewed as a  v****a.  The organ itself completely fades into the background once you watch that baby emerging into the world.  Heck, once things get going, it doesn't even resemble a v****a anymore.  There is no reason to be embarrassed or worried about etiquette.  

When I was born, my mom had me at home and there were 15 family members in the room, lol!  Heck, my grandfather was the person the midwife handed me to first to get cleaned up.  Birthing is not about being naked.

im 13 and i've already seen at least 4 child births in my life...when my sis had my 2 neices (ones 9 and the others 3) and when my bros gf had her baby (babys 9 months) and when my aunt had my...hmm...lil cousin i guess. she had more though. all of it is 'acceptable'

If your Mum wants you there you should be there to

watch your baby brother come into the world.

Of course it is acceptable if you are ready.

And it will probable bring you and your brother closer.

If I were you, I would just stay by her side, and  try to comfort her and coach her with her breathing and pushing. If you decide to have kids in the future, I would stay away from looking down there, It will probably make you nervous about having your own kids, and the image will stay in your head for while.
