My monroe peircing been in for 2 weeks and the bar is long and touching my gums?

like it did stick out now it has like settle in my mouth and it dont stick out anymore unless i push it out ?? does that mean i need a shorter bar???!?!?!?

  1. no thats normal. you want to give it some space so your lip has circulation. you dont wanna make the bar shorter because itll be to tight. if its really bothering you then i guess you could change it. you should wait a little longer though because the pierce is still healing.

  2. thats totally normal. the original swelling has probably gone down so the bar seems longer now. you don't want to bar too short or it will irritate the piercing, but i understand that it is annoying having it touching your gum. mine was the same way. i finally got used to it. u might go ask your piercer if they could find u a shorter bar, but i would just wait it out a little longer to see if you adjust. it still needs time to heal anyway so dont go changing it yet.

  3. The piercer gave you a longer piece of jewelry cause of the swelling.

    When your piercing heals you can go back to your piercer and he/she will put a smaller one in for you.
