  1. He's just hungry.  My son did the same thing.  He ate all day constantly and it was exhauting.  But he would sleep through the night.  I recommend that you get some lasinol cream and prepare for a big boy!  It gets better after about 6 weeks and much better after 3 mths!  It seems like a long time but it goes by fast.  I would pick out a pile of movies I liked and get my hubby to put some ready lunches in the fridge for me so that I could eat and such!  Sometimes babies eat a little more if they have to burp and my doctor said if you let them cry about a minute before you go to them then they will start to space out their feedings.  It took a little while and I know it sounds a little cruel but at least it is good for their lungs!

  2. It is typical and may get quite annoying...but since you love him, keep feeding him regularly every 2 hours. Even if he crys...just make every 2 hours be consistant...that way his body will get used to a schedule too. Also, keep breastfeeding! Thumbs up! Because your breast milk contains enzymes and antibodies for immunity of illnesses passed over.

    =)

  3. Now then, I had one of these babies and she could drink on and off for ever including the night.  Will he use his thumb as a pacifier? or one of those pieses of cloth?  Babies are demanding and will whine until they get what they want even if they are very cute! You will need to train him to wait for a feed a lttle longer each time, He will learn to space the feeds out

  4. Paranoia about not making enough milk might get to you. If you get a pump at one month you might find you don't get a ton. Don't worry, It is still very early. Just check that he is soiling his diapers just fine and having bowel movements.

My little girl stayed at my breast as well, sometimes around two hours even! It's a combination of food/comfort/human pacifier. Your son is growing and learning more about you. You carry him, feed him and take care of him in a new world he still doesn't know. He is very attached to you and that is a good thing. He is probably pacifying at your b*****s as well, but let him for a little while. Him suckling is improving and steadying your milk supply.

I recommend going out and renting/ buying  a collection of your favorite series or checking out a new one while you feed him. You can also read a good book or talk on the phone. Pacifiers also work nicely but with breastfed babies, it's a bit different and they might not accept them right away. (It's not that they don't want it, it's that their mouth is used to sucking at a breast not a pacifier.) Try for a couple minutes each day to know for sure.

It won't last forever though so don't worry!

  5. Its normal, I think he's just hungry and wants the comfort from his mother. Don't worry about it, there's nothing wrong with that.

  6. AW, HE IS JUST HUNGRY!!!! DOUBLE CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT HE IS GETTING MILK!!!

  7. he might not be getting enough milk, you should try to check if enough is coming out. Try to stimulate production with a breast pump, If you have one, congratulations on your breastfeeding choice.

  8. My son was like that, and crying day and night.  Because of something I heard on the radio, I tried giving up tea and coffee for a week  .....  literally overnight he started to sleep four hours between feeds, and if I had a cup of tea, the next day was torture again. Once I found what worked for me, the rest of his childhood was plain sailing. Have a look at your diet  -  every baby and mum is different, and some other mums I know had to eat less cabbage, onions, particular fruits or other items.

Also, do you think he might be swallowing air, and that is what is causing him discomfort?   My local nurse reckoned babies get most of their needs in the first 5 minutes of feeding.  I  think the cultures in which mothers carry their babies swaddled close to their bodies may have less problems with gas, and the baby likes the constant closeness and motion.  I'm not saying you need to keep him strapped to you all day, but holding him on your shoulder until he burps, even asleep, before you lay him down, may help.

  9. they are still so demanding at this stage it will continue for a while yet - also he sounds like he is having a growth spirt

    good luck
