should she remove the screws and the pin its been 2 years since the operation?

My son broke his femur, and had the same hardware put in. His Orthopedic Surgeon told him the IM nail and screws would have to come out around the 1 1/2 yr- 2 yr mark.

If your mom is elderly and has osteoporosis the Dr would likely recommend that the nail stays in.

Only way to say for sure, is to ask the Dr.

That would actually be a decision for an orthopedic doctor to make, Usually they come out. the best thing is to ask an otho doc.
