My mother cuts herself & was taking drugs we got her off the drugs and but cant get her to stop cutting.?

i need help i don't know what to do i put her in counseling and it didn't work her husband left her and i moved out to start my new family. i don't know what to do i am lost she has put so much pain in my family and i just talk to her and tell her how i feel and i try to help her as much as i can and it dose not help we have put her in the hospital and it just made it worse. my son is 18 months old and i want him to know his grandmother and i don't know what to do

it might be a good idea, if you have the money, to put her in an institute for self-harmers. sounds like she doesnt really want to get better, but this will force her too. its up to her really, i dont think theres much more you can do... its a hard habit to quit.

Get her some paper and scissors to cut, i used to be a depressed cutter myself, but eventually got over it. Mine was brought on by the emotional and physical abuse of my father, but now since I have been moved out of his evil presence I am 100% better, maybe there is something bothering her, find out what the source of her depression is and talk about it, good luck

Your mother needs to see a professional and needs to have close watch on with having everything sharp away from her. Her self esteem has been hit with feeling of not being wanted or needed anymore. She cuts herself from trying to cut what feels dirty in her out and she should be placed in confinement for her protection until she relizes what she is doing to herself is wrong. She could be a multiple personality person which has alters that come out and she has no awareness of it. Many factors for her cutting herself and without the professional help she could end up suicide and that you don't want. Seek her help immediately. God Bless You!
