  1. It's possible, but a lot of times twins skip a generation. it also depends if they are identical or not. Indenticals have nothing to do with genetics.

  2. Well, I've heard that twins usually skip a generation.  This is fraternal twins.  Identical twins are just a chance thing....every woman is just as likely as the next to have identical twins.  For fraternal twins, the woman as to have inherited the ability to release two eggs at once (hyperovulation).  So, even though they say it skips a generation, I think you are definitely more likely than the average person to have fraternal twins.  However, it's definitely not guaranteed that you will have them....it's just a higher chance!

  3. Fraternal twins can pass down in the line but usually it skips a generation but not always.  So if your sisters were fraternal you have a increased chance of twins but your daughter would have an even bigger chance basically.  The more fraternal twins that there are on your mothers side the more likely you are to have them.

  4. It is possible. But it is common for twins to skip a generation also.

My son was an identical twin but we lost one and there arn't twins on either side of my family.
