My mother has 3 satalite dishes on her roof that were left behind when she purchased the condo. Who can she call to have them removed? Will it cost her?

  1. Assuming that these dishes were installed by the majors (Dish Network) or similar, their contracts clear those firms of removal costs.  Sad to say, your mother should have insisted before closing that such items had to be properly removed.

If she has already closed the transaction, she accepted theproperty with those items attached.  You might want to think about helping Mom remove those things properly, including any roof issues if they were roof attached.

  2. Call a handyman to remove them.

The satalite companies are NOT responsible for removing old satellite dishes.

P.S. When she purchased the condo, she should have written it in the purchase contract "Seller to remove satellite dishes"

  3. They now belong to your mother. You can call a handyman, but it will cost her to have them removed.

If you can get them down, you can put them on ebay. People do buy them.

  4. If there is a company that supplies wireless internet services in your area, they may take them down for free as they can re-use the mounts. Look in your yellow pages or online. The local satellite dish company may also want them, give them a call.
