And I am suppose to be researching some info for her, but I can't get in contact with her. It starts with a K, I believe, and she is losing her sight in her left eye. She has to wear very strong contacts and glasses. Anyone know what this is? And it's not cataracts. :) Thanks for your help!

  1. Does she have to wear rigid (not soft) lenses in order to see more clearly? Very likely it is keratoconus.  It can be progressive and in some cases requires a corneal transplant.  I see 3 of these patients per week on average and some have gone on to have transplants and are functioning visually.  She needs to be sure she is seeing a doctor who is proficient in fitting lenses for keratoconus if this is what she has.....Have her see a corneal specialist.  Very likely he'll/she'll be able to recommend a good contact lens fitter.
