Question:

My mother in law spends to much money?

My mother in law is always saying to me and my husband how she cant afford anything, but yet she sits on her computer and spends money on things she does not need! and hoards things! she is contantly making us feel guilty! can anyone tell me wat to do? and how i can say how i am feeling about her to my husband! I cant help myself but to resent her!

  1. Just tell your husband how you feel about her and hopefully he will see sense in what you are saying & speak to her too. Your husband is your partner & friend. You should feel free to tell him anything... :-)


  2. Stop feeling guilty.  When she whines about her financial state ignore her.  What and how she spends her money is none of your business.  When she complains just say "I'm sorry you're in such a bind" and leave it at that.

  3. I am at a loss to understand why you and your husband are made to feel guilty because your in law says she cannot afford anything. What she does with her life & money is her own affair. Resentment of her I am also struggling to understand unless it is because she has the things she has & maybe you don't.

    I think if it were me I would be stepping back from her and getting on with my own life. Until if & when she wants money from you I cannot see a problem. I am sorry if I have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Best wishes. UK
