She won't let me cut it, color it, add highlights or straighten it for school! She says its too beautiful and she loves it the way it is. The thing is I DONT! I hate curly hair and i feel better when its straight. My hair color is a terrible shade of blonde and i want to add some color too it but my mom won't let me! How do i tell her its my hair and I want to do what i want with it? (i have told her that but she doesnt listen...)

  1. how old are you??

  2. Just do it. If you went to like a friends house and dyed your hair or something. What could she really do about it?

    It IS your hair.

  3. just dye/bleach it

what's the worst that could happen?

she's not gonna shave your head off...

  4. It's your hair, not hers so do anything you want to it.

  5. Talk to her!

Yell at her (I know, mean, but you're at the end of your rope!).

It's your hair, and you can do what you want with it. Hair is supposed to reflect your personality, but all it's doing is describing your mom's personality.  If she likes it so much, why doesn't she have hair like that and just leave you alone.  Just let her know (sternly) that you're done, and you're going tomarrow to color your hair. End of story.

    Good luck.

  6. go to a friends house and do it there, she can't do anything about it if it's already done

  7. do it without her permission.

  8. well, unfortunately, as long as you are living there in her house, she gets to tell you what to do... bummer, i know

but you have to make the best of it and try to understand that usually moms will make the best decision for us

if you don't like the rules there, then you will have to learn to support yourself and move out to live on your own, and the best way to do that is to get a good education so you can get a good job so you can support yourself.

so try to not worry about your hair for now and worry more about school and your grades so you can get a really good job one day and can do what you want to with your hair

  9. just tell your mom that its your hair and you dont really like it the way it is. tell her that you like it stright and want it a different color and if she doesnt agree to that ask her if you can make it stright some days and wear it curly on other days or ask her if you can get the 90 day hair dye so you and her can see how your hair will look when its a different color and if you both dont like it it will go away faster

  10. Well if your younger than like 14, your hair is basically all hers.

  11. dont do it at a friends they dont know what there doing and it could come out horribkle

  12. thats how my mom use to be but then i cut my hair and she got mad but i didn't care because its my hair so just do what ever you want to your hair its your hair not hers, you could just keep telling your mom that you want to do something different to it because you are sick of it the way it is

  13. Go to a friends house and do something small but noticeable like little highlights or something like that, maybe she'll even like it!!

  14. tell your mother that you feel uncomfertable with it and tell her she knows what its like to want to feel beautiful about yourself and don't use an attitude it just talks her into not letting u.

  15. well tell your mother that its your hair and you can do anything with it...your mom probably went through the same thing when she was younger (she probably hated her hair wen she was a teen too)tell your mom that changing your hair will give you more confidence and help you look even better then you already are..if that doesnt work try making a deal so you can change ur hair(like doing ur chores exchanging for getting the right to change your hairstyle) hope this helps :))

  16. My mom was always like this, but I realize that she just wants me to be happy with my appearance.  Ask her for subtle changes first.  Temporary dyes, slight alterations in the hair length/style.  Also, just tell her that you can't have just one look for your hair when it comes to straightening and styling your hair.  The look will last one or two days and why not let you feel good about yourself?  Acknowledge her advice and let her know you appreciate it, but let her know that you want to be able to control this small thing and she is going to be there in every other aspect of your life.

  17. depends on how old you are is your like 10 wait until your at least in grade six then you'll have a reason because then everyone is obsessed with hair or you could look up pictures on the internet or hairstyles and show your mom some maybe ask her if you could get layers or something depending on how curly your hair is and don't straighten your hair a famous person once said that if your lucky enough to be different from everyone else don't change in other words don't straighten your hair its like killing your hair i have only had my hair straightened like 4 times and i founf that you can easily tell if someones hair is curled or straightened and what looks like its real

  18. yea my mom wont let me color my hair either!  it suckss!

    and im 15
