In return for staying here she baby sits my son during the day and cleans the house.

I do not claim her as a dependant on any tax form.

She has to fill out a County Health Clinic form that asks for HOUSEHOLD income.

I'd argue that this is my household and it is seperate from hers.

Is my income part of that household income?

  1. if she is separate from you then no  she doesn't have to include you ... my mom went through the same thing but then again it might be different for your state

  2. Yes. She lives in the same house doesn't she?

  3. Create a rental agreement for "whatever" amount of money so small it would effect your income tax.  Then she is a renter and her household income is her own.  Good luck.  May I add this...if she really was renting a room from a stranger, she wouldn't include their income as her own.  She and you would be doing nothing unethical.  You already said you do not claim her as a dependant.
