i was going through my file folder of stuff that my mom had kept for me, like school report cards, medical papers and stuff like that and i was looking for my birth certificate so i could take my drivers test. i found a medical form about me when i was two years old and i was transgendered! and then i found my birth certificate and it said i was born a boy! i didn't know that. and neither did my aunt and uncle (My dad left before i was born and my mom died when i was 10 so i live with my aunt and uncle) when i asked them. i didn't even know they had surgery like that for toddlers! i don't know what to think now! my aunt said maybe it was because i looked like my dad and it was painful for my mother?! but know i'm not sure what to do now. i have a boyfriend but should i like girls? should i tell anyone? my friends? help!

  1. Hey, Hon,

Just leave it alone.  Your mother, obviously was advised by her Dr. this was best.

Do you have ovaries?  Then live your life as a girl.

Be happy that you were raised that way.

  2. I doubt seriously that your mother had your s*x changed from a boy to a girl. It is too bad that she is gone, otherwise she could explain to you what happened. There are times when a baby is born with the genitalia of both sexes. This is a rare occurrence but it can and does happen. Please refer to the website I copied below, it can explain may things to you.

  3. Wow - this is a big one.  She must have had her reasons and you should just be happy that you are a healthy girl now. Dont try and change - you are a girl, you live like one and you love like one.  Sorry that you cant get clarity about this, but put it behind you and live your life to the best of your ability.  Life is hard already, dont go looking for more heartache.

  4. Wow! That's a tuffy. Hmmm... You shouldn't judge what s*x you like by the past. Do you really love your boyfriend? Or have you always found yourself kind of attracted to girls? It's not well I was transgendered so I should like girls. It's how you really feel. Boys and girls, they're just people.Should you tell anyone? Only someone you trust that won't judge you. Hang in there; Remember your you no matter what gender.

Hope everything works out. Let me know how it's going.

    Luv, JD☼

  5. WOW! well I don't think you should change you are who you are you have lived that way for a long time don't change yourself cause of a little piece of the past. & i wouldn't tell people it could get out and um... I don't think I could handle it BUT IF YOU LIKE GUYS LIKE GUYS! DON"T CHANGE IF YOU LIKE GIRLS LIKE GIRLS it's your desction! But don't dump your boyfriend beause of it. The past doesn't affect your futur.

  6. Hi Esme,

Your question was referred to me by Grammie, my mom.

The most likely reason your p***s was removed is due to a condition called ambiguous genitalia. It works sort of like this...   When you're born, your s*x is determined by the doctor who delivered you. It's sooo scientific.  They look at your crotch and if they see a p***s (Shazaam!) you're a boy. If they see a v****a, you must be a girl.  In some cases, they see both...  Oh darn, what now?  The doctor will advise your parent(s) regarding which organ looks the most normal to them and recommend surgery before you are old enough to know the difference. For the medical people, it's far easier to remove a p***s than to build one...

It's called being Inter-sexed. If this was the case for you, it only relates to your gender, not your sexuality. If you're happy as a girl, and can function as a female, consider yourself fortunate that you're mind and body match. If you've always felt that there was something wrong with being a female, there are options for change.

Hormones, phychiatric counseling and surgery can make you look like a male. Only if you feel, like a male inside, should you persue such an involved and expensive course of action. Try to recall your dreams as far back as you can remember.  If, in your dreams, you were male, you might want to research, a Female to Male gender reassignment program.  In the end, it's all up to you.

    As for your sexual preference,

This is where it can get really complicated. In a nutshell, gender is who you are - sexuality is who you're attracted to. The two issues, although usually confused are mostly separate. Telling most people that you have gender issues will almost always end up in a discussion of your sexuality. If you decide to modify your outward gender image, hormones and your perception of yourself can affect your preference in partners.

As a Male to Female transgendered person (born and raised with a p***s, always felt female inside) I was almost always attracted to female lovers. The closer I get to finally being female, the more attractive I find certain men but I still love women and their company and sensibilities. Emotional and physical attraction to a partner is not something that you can fight. You'll always like the people you like. Don't fight your heart.

    I hope I've helped.

    Best Wishes,

    Jessi
