My motherboard makes a scratching/screeching sound...?

Does anybody have any ideas what this can mean?

it's sounds like a fuse is broken or something.

Yup you are going to start having hard drive failures.  That is not good when it starts making noise.  BACK UP your data.  You may not have a hard drive soon or it may get wiped out.  Scratching sounds and screeching usually are a dead give away of a bad hard drive about to die.
