My motorcycle stalls when I turn the handlebars HARD right. HELP!?

Hi everyone. I just started riding about a month ago and bought myself a 1994 FZR600R with about 16k miles (as a starter bike). Everything has been fine up until today when I noticed that my bike stalls eveytime I turn the handlebars HARD right. It happens when I'm getting ready to back up into a parking spot, or when pulling out of a parking spot, or trying to make a U-turn. Turning the handlebars hard left does not stall the bike. I want to get this fixed ASAP because I'm scared to ride it now. What if it stalls when I'm turning faster? Again, I'm new to bikes so please go easy on me. So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

  1. I would check the choke cable....It is probabley caught on something or has been zip-tied down somewhere...

  2. Would look first for a wiring loom that gets pinched against the frame or Head stem ... then check to see if the wiring loom going to the right hand switch block is being strained...

Check the plug & sockets(connectors) are pluged in properly

if you cant see anything..  then you will have to peel the cover of the loom to expose the individual wires..check these to see where the insulation is worn & then tape over the exposed conductor to stop it shorting...

think the kill switch wire is R/W

Go here.. download the manual for free..  wiring Diagrams to

  3. Only thing I can think of is maybe there isn't enough slack in the throttle cable when the handle bars are cranked hard to the right...or are you hitting the stop switch with your hand? Or a loose connection in the stop switch? Hey, I'm trying...((;p)

  4. Sounds like either a wire is shorting out or the throttle cable is binding on the hard turn. check for any loose or frayed wires near the handlebars or around the steering head. also, check your throttle cables to make sure they are not loosened at the adjustment screws.

if you don't feel comfortable doing these repairs/adjustments, take the bike to a shop and have it checked out by a professional.

  5. Same thing happened to me on my Ducati.  It turned out that the throttle cable was too tight and every time I turned hard right, the engine shut off.  Definitely check that first.

  6. I would look for a pinched or a bare wire.look at the wire harness from the key switch or the kill switch
