I was riding down the road the other day and it just died on me. When I turn the key to the on position, I have nothing now. It won't turn over, no headlights, nothing. My battery has got plenty of juice. When I turn my key past the lock position to the parking lights position, I still get those. That's what confuses me. So it's not the main fuse I assume. What is it?

  1. agree with bulldog

  2. My motorcycle has, like, six fuses.  Check the continuity in the other fuses first, before doing surgery on your starter switch.

Um, is your Engine Stop/Run switch in the "Run" position?

  3. IS it out of gas? IT may be your stator, its the "alternator". Sometimes they fry them selves. You need to check and see if you are getting any spark.

  4. Definitly an electrical fault.

They tend to keep you amused for a while.

Check the Fuses first, then switch, and relays,

    wiring harness last.

Because it takes out both lights and ignition, it's fairly

near the 'source' end of the system.

If you've got one of those pesky sidestand safety

switches, check that, (though they usually leave the lights on).

  5. my guess is electrical...check your grounds! ( - )

    what kind of bike?

  6. It could still be the fuse.Usually aux. routes the power differently than the ignition circuit.I would sure check that first.

  7. Defective ignition switch.

The "on" circuit is not working, but "park" does.

Like you thought - the battery, it's connections and the main fuse is not the problem.
