My mouse is having a small error with clicking, help?

Ok, this just recently started happening, sometimes when I click, left or right, it doesn't show that I clicked on the computer screen. Yet my mouse is wireless, and whenever I click it flashes, which it does every time. And sometimes, I will click a desktop icon, and it will highlight, yet no matter how many times I click, it won't double click until I wait a moment. As for information, I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, a free wireless mouse that has been doing just fine for months, and yes, fully charged, and this problem has never happened to me before. And I'm not sure what could have caused it either, I rarely download things, besides well known games, and programs that other friends use and I know are harmless. So any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

P.S

Please don't make any comments like,"Vista sucks", "Get XP", "Get a new computer", or anything like that. I like Vista, this computer is fairly new, and I don't have much money, so I'd like to FIX the problem, not just get rid of it. Oh, and if you're wondering why it's in the software section, it's because, like I said, it seems that the mouse is working fine, just the computer isn't reading it well.

  1. If you're positive your mouse is charged, then your best bet would be getting someone to look at it with professional experience.

Sometimes trying to fix things on your own makes them worse.

  2. well u should check ur mousepad or go to the reapair shop and ask them. good luck

  3. Start by cleaning the mouse (yes they do collect dust, pet hair and other assorted junk).  Some are very easy to clean, others are not.  A shot of compressed air may just do the trick.  If it is software see if there is a new driver on the manufacturers web site.
