  1. He may just be bored or loney. Put some toilet rolls in his cage, if you dont want to buy toys, and maybe but him a friends aswell =]

before you buy another one, check really carefully for mites or parasites, look it up on the internet for pictures, and treat it before you get another one.

  2. He is stressed out. Animals demonstrate self mutilation as some humans do. Does he have anything to keep him busy? Toys? Chew sticks? Enough food and water?

Put some empty cardboard  toilet paper rolls in for him to play with. He'll like hiding and chewing on the.

Check for mites to rule out the possibility of parasites.

  3. It would most likely be mites.....ive never seen a rodent self mutilate for the fun of it.......You can purchase a dust to kill mites and hopefully that will work....There are other forms of mite off as well.....If this doesnt work, try getting another mouse and see if it is in fact boredom...although I doubt it, it is definately worth trying....good luck!!!!
