My mp3 won't play songs

Question

my mp3 player won't play any songs, since it says that there aren't any songs on there. wen i go on navigation it shows loads of files but there isn't any music on them. and worse it says that my memory is being taken up. and when i try to put on more songs it just says that there aren't any there. what do i do?
