  1. They do fade yes...google image "faded tattoo"...the colours bleed and go dull.

  2. No my dear if done professionally it won't. I had a tattoo done 5 yrs ago and still perfect. I take care of it, don't scrub it too hard during shower and thats all. Just choose the right person to do it for you and make sure of the quality of ink that he uses. Good Luck :)

  3. if you get quality work from a good tattoo artist it will be fine for a long time and if it does start to fade you can get it touched up.

  4. They do fade and most people regret having them done when they are older.

  5. after a good few years tattoo's can start to fade, i got mine done 5 years ago and its fading already but thats down to poor after care on my part, they shouldnt really fade for about 15 years or so, but they can easily be touched up.

  6. your mothers talking out of her árse!

  7. some can go slightly faded, i know someone who had one done years ago and its faded and slightly dull in colour

  8. It is more likely that the current craze for tattoos will fade long before your tattoo does.

People with tattoos will then be identified as old-fashioned because they have tattoos, in the same way that they are old-fashioned today for not having tattoos.

    It's the way things go.

  9. h**l NO......They fade to blue blobs.

  10. as you age your skin loosens up and your tatoos tend to get alittle stretched and sometimes blobby

  11. not true if you use sunscreen and stay out of tanning beds. of course they will fade a little but not into black blobs.

  12. No. But they will stretch with the skin as you age and get errr 'droopier' lol.

Methinks shes trying to deter you from having a tattoo?!

  13. No, they come all kinds of colours but yes they go blobby.

  14. not all tattoos do that but it you get all black it doesnt smear together it shrinks every 2 years by not much i totaly think you should try to get one they are hot sweet and awsome!!

if your talking about a multy color tattoo thats differnt the ink fades if your out in the sun allot

hope this works for you =)

  15. They DO fade away, thats why you retouch em.

Your mom just doesn't want you to get one.

  16. It is true that tattoos on older people today can look faded and "blobby". However, tattoos done today (if done properly and looked after) shouldn't look as bad when they're older because the ink technology is far better - they don't degrade like they used to. Also, people are a lot more aware about tattoo care.

  17. I think that the term "blob" is a bit of an exageration. Over time, yes your tattoo will destort. But honestly, if the only attractive thing about me when I am old is my tattoo, I think I'll be okay with that.

  18. with age of course the tattoo will become distorted by the colours fading, you skin stretching and loosing its elasticity with age.etc.

depending on what the tattoo is of and where it is effects the aging process.

  19. Nooooo

  20. That was true years ago but not today. With proper skin care your tattoos are going to look fine through the years. Most people who have faded tattoos spend a lot of time really not taking care of their skin whatsoever.

  21. Yes I'm afraid she's right. Fine lines will spread, colours will fade, everything will lose its definition.  As you skin ages, sags and stretches, so will your tattoo.  I have older relatives with tattoos and there just a mess.  No doubt some will say modern techniques and inks make a difference, but your skin will always age regardless of how good it was in the first place.

I'm glad I'm a big chicken, to scared to get one, it's tempting as there are some excellent designs.

But my advice would be, don't get one.

  22. Yes very true but not any time soon. About 12-15 years they will start to fade but will not go completely if you had a yellow colour it would fade into a more darker colour.

If you gain weight are lose weight it can also affect the tattoo.

  23. no she just doesnt want you to get it
