My mum told me today that she is adopted?

today my mother told me that she is adopted, along with her brother and sister....they are all adopted from ireland (where I am from) so they are not obvious looking. I am just very shocked about it. My mum only told me but not my 3 brothers because she said they are too immature to know. I am just shocked and I was crying earlier because my mum is so accepting of it. Her father left her mother so her mother really had no choice ( i would assume it was just a one night stand) My mother also told me that her mother never told her husband and children and she is very guilt ridden.

If she has never told her husband or children, it would just devastate so many people.  Yes she is your grandmother, but she is your mother's mother.  If she does not want to cause her mother embarrassment and make he anxious, they your shouldn't either.  

I know it's hard to know you have a mother and grandmother that you have never seen.  You want to at least meet them or see them from afar.

Does your mother know how to get in tough with her.  If so, she might call her and ask to meet her in the park or some where public.

But that is up to your mother.

its a good thing that she accepts it. at first it probably made her sad but she probably realized that just cause a lady gave birth to someone doenst make them a mother. a mother is the person who is always there for them and takes care of htem and cares about them more than anything. so its good taht she accepts it. maybe she didnt want to tell u cause she was scared that u wouldnt consider her adopted mother ur grandmother. and maybe ur ggrandmohter didnt tell them cause she wanted them to think of her as their mother.
