I have razor sharp blades, and a new belt. The left side cuts great, the right side cuts OK but the grass is left a bit higher on that side. It leaves sort of a hill in the grass and crab grass and tough stuff like that doesnt get cut down hardly at all, while the other side chops it clear down the first pass with no problem. The blades are both on correctly. What the world is going on here? I did notice there is a small amount of up/down slop in the bearing/hub assembly on the right side. Could that cause the problem?

  1. My mower has individual height adjustments on each of the four wheels. Are all of your wheels set to an even height?

  2. Check to see if the deck is level.

Check to make sure the bearing are not binding up.

  3. I think that you put that blade on upside down.  Bevel up.

  4. I sound like the deck is not level...

  5. Make sure the blades are on right, not up side down, bent wings facing up for proper lift etc. is the exit chute clear of grass or ant thing else like old wet grass, clean under the deck where the blades are and where the exits to the chute? by the way mower blades are not supposed to be razor sharp, there is a specific angle to sharpen them see your dealer. remember to disconnect the plug wire for safety while fooling with the blades.

  6. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO W/HOW SHARP THE BLADES ARE, YOUR DECK IS NOT LEVEL,SET YOUR MOWER ON A LEVEL SPOT AND TAKE A LEVEL AND PLACE IT ON THE CUTTING DECK.THIS SHOULD TELL YOU WHERE YOUR PROBLEM IS. IF FOR SOME REASON IT IS LEVEL THEN PUT A SHIM UNDER THE BLADE THAT IS OUT OF ADJ.
