Question

Avs resigned Joe and still have over 5mil in cap space.

Now I know Sundin was offered some 10mil a year to play in Van. but Why not take 5mil to play with the Avs and make them a legite contender to win the Cup???

Then when Forsberg comes back, figure out a way to clear some 2 mil in cap space to resign him for half a season. This seems the most realistic but it comes down to Sundin taking the Pay Cut.

So my question is: If all the above happens, what are your playoff predictions for the Western Conference seeds 1-8 and whos you got going to the Finals??

Don't get your hopes up.  I expect Sundin will return to Toronto if he even signs at all.  It's not about the money for him.  And it's also not about the cup or he would have taken the move to Detriot last year when it was offered.

Healthy, the Avs (on paper) are a good playoff team... but still lack in net!

Not gonna happen.  They'll bring on Forsberg if he decides to play, but otherwise just look forward to some extra cap space come deadline time.  The Avs don't need Sundin they need a goalie

i think the Avs could be 3rd in the west next year winning their division behind hossa and the red wings and nobakav and the sharks

colorado will make the playoffs.. yet, many players will really have to step up including Budaj for them to go past the 2nd round.....
