  1. it's different from what i'm used to.  but if i knew what the name meant and the significane it is to you specifically, maybe i would like it more

  2. My aunt's name is Greer - she's from Nothern ireland & now lives in Australia.

I like it as a name.

  3. Eh, it sounds, weird. I just don't like the sound of it, sorry. But yeah, maybe if I found out the meaning behind it I might like it more.

  4. In early America, one thing that was very common is that family names were often used for first or middle names.  Like, Mary Greer marries John Divers and one of their children is named Samuel Greer Divers.. or Greer Michael Divers.  Sometimes, if you are working your ancestry, you'll find that is how a name "got into" your family.  Or.. someone hears a unique name (like that) and chooses it for their baby, even when not related.

I happen to have Greer ancestors from Virginia.. so, I do like the name.  It is more special when it DOES connect to your personal history.

  5. No, I don't. Brooke Shields named her daughter Greer, and I thought, "Why?!"
