You can go whateva you choice... I would recommend not... Because firstly i do NOT understand how you get: Nel or Nellie from Natalie... And secondly i do not like either name (Nel or Nellie)

My name is Natalie too and I don't like being called Nat.

I'm Italian and my family calls me Natalia (cause that's my name in Italian) or Talia. I've thought of using Tallie or Allie but I like Talia the most.

Anyway, I like Nellie a lot..it's cute!
