My nan had no gas bill since december due to the meter guy mis reading his last 2 quarterly readings?

... and now, after i rang them to tell them my nan was worried that her july bill hadnt come it ended up with them them realising its actually been since december.. so upon me giving them the meter reading as i saw it they asmitted it was thier own human error the last 2 quarters as their guy has mistakenly on both them visits read the first digit as a 0 when it should of read as a 6 and now they are sending a bill from december up to now and im really upset they have put my nan in this situation cos she hadnt even realised itd been two bills missing she just thougt it was last months and now she thinks it'l put her in debt which she never lets happen she always pays the bills and goes without luxurys if need be to make ends meet so now she is wittling and its not her fault its theirs.... am i within rights to say the last two quarters should be written off? i dont want my nan having this on her mind over a few months to pay it off she cant take stress well cos of her heart.. plz help someone x

You can ask but it will not help. Your Nan used the service and, according to them, should know when bills are due and around what they should be.

If she suddenly got a bill for three times what she expected, she would have called, correct? Well, when she did not get a bill she should have called.

If paying it all at once is a problem, I am sure the company would spread it over several quarters, since it was their fault they did not bill.
