My neighbor reported a Mexican illegal immigrant to ICE.....?

and now he's facing having to pay a HUGE fine. He called ICE and they dispatched a couple of agents to his house to gather more information. He told ICE that he was sure they where illegals because he's neve heard them speak English, they dress funny, and he swears he's seen them standing around Home Depot. He is now being accused of racial profiling, and filing a false report with ICE which is a Federal Crime, so he can face up to a $5,000 - $10,000 fine. What should he do?

Total BS. Citizens that report suspicious activity are protected under the Constitution. If ICE determines the complaint has no merit they simply drop the case.

I think he should just pay the fine.. accusing them of being illegal immigrants just because of some faulty assumptions.. if he was really concerned then he should have went into more "investigation" before accusing them of being illegal... My family doesn't speak english outside my home.. and I WORK AT HOME DEPOT.. Easy target but I was born in the USA.. I think that was just racial profiling.. @$$!0(_#

Stop making up stupid stories.  ICE screens calls and needs verifiable info before they send anyone out.  They do not have the staff to investigate every little suspicion.  There is no way your scenario has any basis in fact.

Just because people don't speak English, dress funny (whatever that means), and go to Home Depot, doesn't make them illegal immigrants. Yeah, right. Everyone here knows you are in full support of illegals but no need to make up a story. I.C.E knows that most calls are not 100% positive if they are reporting illegals. Their job is to investigate and rid of them if they are.
