My neighborhood has gone done hill and I want to know how to improve it?

We now have graffitti, gangs and crime all over my neighborhood. What I need is some creative tips for improving the place that I grew up in? Thanks for any advice and be creative in your answers.

Start by making friends with your neighbors. Then the kids. If the kids are part of your "gang" and fill them up there time and hearts with love, respect, and good things then they are not part of the problem. If the gands can't grow they die out.

Work on your own place and then talk to your neighbors about them doing the same.  

Don't get discouraged.  

Is there a church in your neighborhood? Could you get the Pastor or the main preacher to organize the neighborhood?  With the help of the police set up a Neighborhood watch group.  

Don't be hostile toward anyone.  Set up an area  for the graffiti makers to compete with one another in making great art.  No profanity allowed.

Do you have a neighborhood park?  Get some volunteers to work on Saturdays to clean it up.

Solicit ideas from every one.

When you talk to gang members, tell them that if the neighborhood looks really nice, the police will think the gangs have left the area.  That way they will get hassled less.

if you grew up there then no doubt the trouble makers are npot of the area my advice is to just move  one person cannot change the world even if you want to it often lead to ending up being isolated what , ok what about talking to the police to see if you can get more support from the plastic policeman cso and maybe start a neighorhood watch maybe you could also get a contact at your local concel for a wall that can be decorated the general problem with this type of thing it is done to resist authority to make an indivduel look clever an attempt to fit in with the new culture of the uk

You could try getting an article in a local paper to try and raise awareness of the problems. You could put together a group of volunteers to go out periodically and erase graffiti.

Get a neighborhood crew and clean up the place.  If you have gangs and crime, call the police they can help you.  k
