My neighbors across the street have two very messy trees whose leaves fall into my yard.

The leaves and sticks also blow all the way up to my porch and get into my flower beds. I don't mind raking these leaves up from time to time, but if I'm not out there picking up those leaves from my flower beds, my plants suffocate. Is there a fast growing plant that might barricade my porch and flower beds right up on the house and also look nice? Would that even work?

  1. A privet or boxwood hedge might do the trick.  They don't grow very quickly at first, but after the second year they grow quite nicely.  Rosebushes grow more quickly, but require greater maintenance, and aren't evergreen like privet and boxwood.
