  1. There is a post emergent herbicide called Drive that can be applied during the growing season of crabgrass.

You can purchase this at a professional Landscape Supply center such as John Deere Landscapes (Lesco).

In the spring apply a pre-emergent herbicide to stop the crabgrass from germinating....and tell your neighbor to do the same.

  2. Try corn gluten.

  3. You have two answers so try both. In the spring treat your lawn with weed and crabgrass killer before the seeds from the prior year start to germinate. That should take care of the problem.

  4. Unless the neighbor has giant plants that are creeping into your yard, what you have are crab grass seeds germinating in your own soil. Crab grass is an annual weed. It will die in the winter. However, it will leave seeds behind that will germinate next year.

To stop germination next year, you need to use crab grass preventer (a chemical) or corn gluten (an organic germination inhibitor) in the early spring. They don't work on plants once they have germinated. Using crab grass preventer or gluten now is just a waste.

  5. their are alot of crabgrass preventers on the market.  the best in my opinion is called barricade and it does just that. it's applied in the spring though.
