ALL THE TIME. He dresses them up to make them look FAB-u-LOUS. He has no social skills with the other kids. He bosses the girls around on what clothes their dolls should have. Should his parents be alarmed.

  1. He might just have sisters or female relatives that need someone to play with barbies with. If he doesn't, his parents don't really have any cause to be alarmed, p***e, but they should try to get him involved in other activities, and encourage him to befriend other children.

  2. I see nothing wrong with it. Occassionaly I catch my 10 yr old son playing with his sister's barbies when the other kids are all gone. He's just role playing and it doesn't mean anything

  3. if he is being a twerp about it then he needs to be told to calm down, or h**l have to sit out for a while. my son is 7, he LOVES barbies, LOVES playing house (baby dolls) and LOVES playing doll house. i don't think there is anything wrong with it at all. he has many cousins and a sister that are girls.  when he is alone, he will play trucks, cars & video games. but when the girlscome over, watch out, he running down the stairs yelling "i'm the dad!!"lol i wouldn't worry really, i would only watch to make sure he isn't making it a stressful playtime for the other kids. he might need told that everyone has their own "way" to dress the barbies. as far as having no social skills, he does. he is playing one-on-one with other kids. my son plays with both boys & girls well, but mabey the "neighbor kid" likes the girls better. there are a lot of boys out there like that. i know if i asked my son who he wanted to spend the night, he would pick his girl cousin over his boy cousin anyday- good lucK!!

  4. Boys play with girl toys alot and its completely normal-and vice versa. Bossing isn't great but its something children do, If it bugs you try calmly and nicely saying something like- everyone likes different things and everyone is different its ok that they wear that, you dont need to tell people what to wear or what their dolls should wear we all like different things so its ok!- I dont think I would even talk to his parents about it but it depends on how bad it gets and if hes really being overly mean or aggressive for what is normal.

  5. No it a phase let him be.

  6. No, would you be asking this if a little girl really liked to play with trucks all the time? And if he has no social skills that is the parents fault not his, it is something that is taught not born in us.

  7. My Uncle used to play with dolls all the time.  (So I've been told.)  Now he's an adult who bosses his wife around ALL the time and acts like a total prick.  He only dated women who looked like grown barbies, and treated them all like objects.

Not sayin that's gonna happen with this kid, but you never know!

  8. not unless his bossing is phsyical or threatening.  Let him play - it's called pretend and crosses boundaries we adults can't.  Anyway, (male) fashion designers make great money!

  9. Be alarmed about what?

  10. I think its fine. It just means that he doesn't have boundaries based on gender roles yet. I think it is a good thing. He is just having fun and pretending. He's not concerned that it's a toy marketed towards girls.

Would you think it as odd if it were a 7-year old girl playing with Hot Wheels?
