My neighbors put tin foil on their windows?

Question

When I was walking up to my apartment building I noticed that the neighbor below me has recently put tin foil on their windows. Why? Heat shouldn't be an issue because it's been very cold lately.

I guess my question is this: are they wearing tin foil hats too?

Could be they can't afford drapes or shades.  Could be ET is looking for them.  Watch when they leave the house.

Maybe like a lot of other people they work the night shift....tin foil blocks out that annoying light when you are trying to sleep

I think it's to help with insulation.  It helps keep the place cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold.

ha ha, I hope they have on hats!  My boyfriends family is pretty trashy, they do that type of c**p.  Heat is always an issue here, when he suggested putting foil in our windows I told him one of us would be moving out if it happened.

It might be a temporary way of blocking out all the light. Does one of them have a night job?
