It then collects into one pipe that outlets onto a lower roof.

Which then shoots down that roof missing the guttering andstraight onto the back of my garden shed.

About 2 years ago I asked him to sort it out and even lent him my ladders, which never moves for 18 months so I had thenm back.

Where do I go from here, is it a building regulations matter as this problem was caused by an extension built onto the house by the previous owner.

  1. I would discuss the problem with him once more and then I would spend a ridiculous amount of money building a pipe and pump system to deliver the water over his front step.

  2. Contact someone in a building codes office of your local government.  They will make him fix it and/or pay heavy fines.  They might even make him pay for damages to your property.

  3. justpayindues...fabulous answer mate. I too would spend the next three weeks formulating something that deflected it straight back at his own property. Even if it was the ugliest piece of sin wood at the top of a raggy pole!

Or collect it in a water butt and then stick the syphon hose through his letter box.

  4. i agree with indy500.

  5. In the US, I would send him a registered letter asking him to fix the problem. One month later, another registered letter. On the 3rd month, a registered letter containing a demand for repairs. Keep copies of your letters and the receipts for the letters. If he can't take the hint, take him to small claims court for damages. Get quotes from contractors to repair all water damage from flooding, erosion, etc. Sue for 10 times the amount of damages, up to $5000

  6. If he has a problem with his property which affects yours, contact a lawyer or the council if he wont sort it out himself.

  7. Get a water butt! You'll have loads! Or simply contact the council...
