  1. if you want to stop that just go to the park and play or try be very carefull and not to let your balls go into your neighbours garden then if it happens once in a while you may just get them back.

I`m not to sure about this but I think keeping your balls is actually theft so maybe you could take advice from the police

  2. Did they come to your property and take it? If so, keep it in the house and lock the door.

Did they keep it when you throw it over the fence accidentally and they told you once it's in their property, it's theirs.

Actually there was a Q&A session on TV a short while ago. The lawyer answered a very similar question. The thing, even though the items get into their property, they can't claim it's theirs. However, you still need to get their permission to go to their yard to pick it up. If you don't, you are trespassing.

You should work this thing out with your neighbors.

  3. They are probably tired of your errant balls. Do your footballs go over the fence often? Are they doing damage to their yard, plants or garden?

Don't kick their pots in. Kindly go over and apologize and say you will be more careful. And then ask if you can have your football back. If you are nice and courteous, they will be too. You can also bring over some cookies as a peace offering.

As kids, we would always lose our footballs and baseballs over the fence too. We always apologized when we asked for them back and the neighbors were nice, but it did get annoying for them. We eventually just gave up and played at the park so as to not bother them.

Good luck. And don't kick their pots in.
