  1. The funeral home has to bury him but in the way they want if you dont pay.  If you want choice you will need to find some money.  In obit you can use the phrase in lieu of flower please pay memorial to bank etc.   Also check with his auto insurance company many policy will cover some expenses for injurys under uninsured/ underinsured even if not in a vehicle.  i would check it all out.  Sorry to hear about your loss.

  2. Ask a friend to open a memorial bank account to take donations for final expenses.  Your local TV station and newspaper should gladly announce the existance of this account for anyone who would like to help.  My friend lost her 5 year old daughter in a car accident and didn't have any money for a burial.  This is what we did for her.

  3. I would consult a personal injury lawyer.

  4. If the accident happened in a mandatory insurance state, the motorcyclists insurance should pay.

You'll have to make a claim to the rider's insurance company, and sue the rider.

You might also make a claim with your nephew's car insurance company. He may have had medical payments coverage. If the motorcyclist had no insurance, or was underinsured, his policy might pay claims under the uninsured/underinsured coverage.

This is one reason I say that young people need to buy life insurance too.

Some say that a young person doesn't need life insurance. To those who think that, tell that to this family!

    Sorry for your loss.

    Best wishes, and God bless.
